An athletic switch-hitter who showed well from both sides of the plate. It’s a gap-to-gap approach that he replicates on both sides of the dish, staying on top of the baseball to create line-drive contact to the center of the diamond. He carries some aggressive athleticism in the outfield as well with an above-average arm at 86 mph. Guden is ultra-aggressive to the baseball with sure hands and a clean release.
Another ‘22 middle infielder from Wisconsin having a strong summer. Switch-hitter with a little more natural feel to hit from the right side, but athletic enough to continue developing from the left side. He’s been improving defensively, too, and looks the part of a shortstop. Per the PBR Wisconsin staff, he should be making gains up the class’ ‘22 board in the next update.
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-10, 165-pounds.
Delivery: Upright start from the left of the rubber; small side step rock to high knee lift, drops and drives with shoulders uphill, high front side, works on line to target.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action, arm circle, from an over-the-top slot.
FB: T82, 79-81 mph. Mostly straight, slight arm-side run.
CB: 71-71 mph. Flashes tight, short action off an 11/5 plane.
Hit: SH. Mirrors setup from both sides of the plate, open setup, athletic hand position, toe tap stride, balanced throughout. Simple swing with barrel control, showed hard gap to gap contact, line drive hitter, average launch angle of 9.4 degrees.
Power: L- 85 R-85 mph exit velocity from the tee.
Arm: RH. INF - 81 mph. Short loose arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Hands played soft and out front, plays through the baseball as funnels to glove pat release. Feet setup to play through the baseball.
Run: 7.47 runner in the 60.
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. Athletic frame, lean and strong.
Delivery: Drop and drive delivery, level shoulders, closed toe landing at times, works on line with target.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T83, 79-83 mph. Straight.
CB: 65-66 mph. 12/6 shape
CH: 63-68 mph. Flashed sink.
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. Athletic frame, lean and strong.
Hit: SH. Showed similar abilities from both sides, athletic setup, open stance, short timing stride, loose rhythm hands into load. Balanced approach, above average bat speed, short path to contact, gap to gap from both sides of the plate.
Power: L79, R88 mph exit velocity from the tee. Showed more strength from the right side.
Arm: RH. INF - 82 mph. Short arm action from a high 3/4 slot; above-average arm strength.
Defense: Ranges very well, quick footwork helps to square up ball to both sides. Defends in rhythm to create quick/clean exchanges. Athletic overall actions.
Run: 7.15 runner in the 60. Athletic runner.
