6/19/14 - Athletically built, 6-foot, 190-pound outfielder. Baier represented Wisconsin at the Future Games last year as a raw athlete who was on the verge of putting it all together. This year at the Top Prospect Showcase Baier showed off improved skill sets all over the field. Offensively hits from a slightly open stance, short stride and smooth loading action. Hands work well to the baseball, stays inside of it, line drive gap to gap approach. Posted 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Ran a 7.00 in the 60, athletic runner. Defensively showed improved arm strength, arm played at 89 mph from the outfield, showed carry from a long over the top slot, showed accuracy to and through his target. Hands and feet worked together well in the outfield, played through the baseball with clean exchanges.

Future Games, looks to be a looser athlete at the plate and outfield with more refined baseball actions. Offensively uses a short stride from the right side, maintains balance. Slightly rotational, line drive type hitter, can get through the baseball better. 86 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively showed improved arm strength, 88 mph arm strength from the outfield, athletic feet, 4.26 runner down the line. Plays through the baseball with a clean exchange. Strong outfield prospect in the 2015 class.

8/4/13 - Baier is an athletic 5-foot-11, 195-pound outfielder who shows excellent raw athleticism. He has an advanced physical frame, a sturdy build with a high level of athleticism. Defensively he has raw athleticism that comes out in the outfield, as his actions and instincts improve Baier looks like he has potential to be one of the top outfielders in the state. His arm is playable at 82 mph and should get stronger with more experience.  Offensively he showed strong hands and bat speed at the plate. Baier hit .422 through 45 at bats in a weather stricken spring playing in the northern part of the state. As he continues to get more at bats against better pitching, it’s safe to say Baier will continue to make strides at the plate.
