PLAYER SPOTLIGHT

Hogan Harris

A 2015 LHP with a 6-foot-2 195 pound frame from St. Thomas Moore HS.  Harris throws an extremely heavy 88-92 fastball that has been up to 94.  Curveball has 11/5 shape with good spin and depth at 73-75.  Delivery creates deception as he drops and drives to the plate, but he spins off at times.  He has a fast arm out of mid-3/4 release with some angle to the plate.  The combination of deception in delivery and power stuff make him extremely difficult on left handed hitters.

Tyler Smith

A 5-foot-10 170 pound 2016 OF from Covington HS, Smith bursted on the scene over the summer playing for the Louisiana Knights.  Committed to Louisiana State, Smith displayed big power from the left side, and proved to be an advanced offensive player.  He is a good thrower from the outfield, posses great speed and tracking instincts as a defender.  He has a long and lean frame, as he fills out and gains strength the power should only increase.

Nick Ray

A 2017 OF/SS from Jesuit HS in New Orleans with a 6-foot-2 180 pound frame, Ray came on the scene over the summer playing with the Louisiana Knights.  Ray is physical specimen with a Pro-ball type frame.  Plays both SS and OF right now, but most likely projects to the OF.  Solid OF with good instincts, good tracking speed, and a solid throwing arm. Right-handed hitter with a good bat path, raw developing power, and shows advanced hand-eye coordination.  The overall package is still raw, but the advanced athletic ability makes Ray a high-end prospect to watch as he enters his sophomore season.
