1/5/19 - SoCal Preseason All-State - 6-foot, 165-pounds, lean athletic wiry frame, with projection remaining in his frame. Hits from the right side, with a balanced line drive swing. Has quick loose hands, to go along with good present bat speed. He incorporates his lower half into his swing generating his present power. His swing can get long at times, shortening it up may improve his timing. He drove ball well to all fields. Defensively, he moves very well behind the plate and his pop times ranged from 2.00-2.16. Showed a very strong arm, all of his throws had carry to them. He did lack accuracy in his throws. One of the faster catchers at the showcase, ran a 7.38 60 yard dash.

8/18/18 - SoCal Underclass Games - Six-foot, 165-pounds, large, lean frame with wiry strength proportionally distributed throughout. Could easily see the addition of mass and strength to this frame. Broad shoulders with strength down through wrists. Cain generates above average pop from a medium-wide base and toe-tap trigger. Shows fast hands through the zone where he generates power from a full hip rotation. Shows a consistent middle approach with the occasional pull-side power. Finishes balanced and extended. Defensively he shows some agility in and out of his crouch. Arm is loose but can get long in the back causing some accuracy issues. Arm strength is presently average from a high ¾ slot. Accuracy was inconsistent during the defensive workout portion of the day before showing much better in-game.

6/12/18 - 6-foot, 165-pound, lean, wiry strong, long limbed. Ran a 7.45 60. Behind the plate Cain shows soft hands, nimble footwork, and athletic body movements when blocking and recovering or coming out of his crouch to throw down to second base. Best pop time was 2.07. Throws were online with some carry and all were to the bag. The arm is adequate Offensively Cain shows an upright, quiet stance with a balanced swing that flashes bat speed with a middle-middle, line drive approach. Dives at balls at times. Cain shows the ability to get his barrel on plane and through the hitting zone where he's short to the ball and long through it generating his power from his upper body and limited use of lower half.
