6/20/17
5-foot-11, 140-pound, thing, lengthy athletic frame. The body and frame work freely, has plenty of room to fill out and add strength and mass. A right-handed pitcher, has simple and clean delivery. The leg kick is smooth, gets to a good gather position, has some coil at its peak. The arm action is super clean, whip like action to it at times, works out of a natural ¾ slot, gets squared up to the plate on the finish. The delivery is repeated, pounds the zone with three pitches. The changeup at this workout was his best pitch, clocked at 63-66 mph, has proper fade, shape and runs to the arm side. The fastball was a couple ticks down at 77 mph, has run to the arm side with it, threw a ton of strikes with it. The breaking ball was tight spin clocked at 67 mph, has tilt and is also thrown for strikes. A three pitch pitcher, who once adds strength and gets on a regular throwing pattern the fastball is going to jump quickly. I've had a chance to see him a bunch now over the last year, has shown the ability to compete and pitch with a different pitch each time out. Solid follow, good things to come down the road.

11/2/16

5-foot-10, 140-pound, thin, athletic frame, has plenty of room for strength and mass to be put on. Currently ranked, 114th, has made a jump in the rankings. This right-hander has a super clean and quick arm. The delivery is simple, the hands start high, drop down on rocker step and then make their way back up with leg raise. At the peak of the leg raise, has some coil to it, the stride is inline and has some length to it. The arm works out of a natural ¾ slot, arm action is clean, fastball was at 78-80 mph, with a ton more in there. The breaking ball is well above average, clocked at 69-72 mph, has depth and tilt to it. The changeup was clocked at 73-74, with fade and sink to the arm side. Times to the plate are very good at 1.25, works fast and attacks, is aggressive. Strength is a must, big time follow for me, is one of the better arms I’ve seen at spinning the baseball.

8/18/16

5-foot-10, 140-pound, thin athletic frame. The arms are long, has plenty of room to fill out and add muscle. On the mound, this right-hander was impressive, repeats his delivery without much effort. The hands and delivery have tempo, they start high, drop down with rocker step and then come back up with tight controlled leg raise. The separation is clean, stride is inline, maybe a tick short and could use the backside lower half slightly more. The arm is super clean, with average length to it and ball comes out of a natural ¾ slot. The fastball was 77-80 mph, it jumps when it gets to the plate. The breaking ball has above average spin and tilt, clocked at 67-70 mph, good pitch. The changeup is a work in progress, threw two good ones against lefties, clocked at 73-74 mph. Times to plate were good at 1.15 slide step, attacked hitters. Offensively, hits from an open to even stance, hands are loose, bat is flat on back shoulder. The swing is level throughout, finished with one hand below shoulder, could be higher to create some lift and length. The approach is gap to gap and more line drive. The tee exit velocity was 69 mph. In game performance collected a single and had a good swing in another at bat. Defensively, the actions and soft hands are advanced for his age, keeps feet moving throughout, need to be quicker. The arm was clocked at 74 mph across the diamond. His instincts and first step to ball are good, pro move was made with ease. Strength and speed are a must, high follow for me, look for the game to take off.
