6-foot, 140-pound, long and lengthy athletic frame, has plenty of room to fill out and put mass on. A right-handed hitter, the hands are set just below the shoulders, the feet are wide and just so slightly open. The approach is gap to gap, took 2 good rounds of bp, spraying the ball to all fields. The tee exit velocity was 80 mph, has some whip out front, has more in the swing, could finish more. Times down the line are good, was 4.63. Defensively, his best tool is his arm behind the plate and his athleticism. The arm action is short, has a quick catch to release. The arm was clocked at 69 mph, with pop times of 2.0-2.19. The setup is relaxed and flexible, caught with two hands needs to learn to go with one, will help with time. Also worked out at first base, showed soft hands and feet worked well around the back. Interesting kid, strength is a big must.

1/18/16
At 5-foot-10, 135-pounds, the frame is long, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed hitting catcher. At the plate, the stance is even and balanced. The hands are set at shoulder height and back elbow is high. The swing is level through the zone, gets out on his front foot at times, but that can be controlled with reps and hard work. The hands are loose and work, the tee exit velocity was 73 mph, has a ton more in his swing. The grip could be relaxed a bit more. In the field, his hands and feet work well together, feet are very good. The arm registered at 67 mph across the diamond. Behind the dish the setup is wide, needs to be slightly more balanced and to stay back, pops up quick. The feet and hands work well together again. Mechanics get a little out of sync, the frame is so long and is still growing. Times to second 2.15-2.22. Arm strength is a must. The feet and hands work together and the frame has potential. Looking forward to watching him progress.
