8/18/16

5-foot-11, 185-pound, strong physical frame. The hands and forearms are strong, wrists are thick, a good sign he will hit. A left-handed hitter, the stance is slightly open, with feet shoulder width apart, balanced throughout the swing. The lower half is under control, gains ground with stride and it’s in line. The hands start just above the shoulder close to ear and bat is tilted in a good starting position. The swing is down to level to up, finishes high with two hands, could stay through it slightly longer. Took two good powerful rounds of BP, the tee exit velocity is 90 mph. In the game collected a single, time down the line was 4.4. Defensively, works from the ground up footwork around bag is good. The arm action is short, has a crank like action to it, clocked at 78 mph across the diamond. The feet move well in starting the double play. I've had the opportunity to see him a bunch over the past year, continues to get better and always seems to get the barrel to the ball.

7/12/16

5-foot-10, 190-pound, strong physical frame, hands and forearms are very strong, put together well. A left-handed hitting power bat, the stance is slightly open and sits in a small crouch position. The swing path is level to up, shows plus power to both gaps. In game swings were very good, line drives to both sides. The tee exit velocity was 90, ran a 4.64 down the line. Defensively, the arm has some strength across the diamond at 79 mph, arm action is short with more of a crank action to it. Footwork is good around the bag and starting the double play, could field ball out front a bit more and hands could soften a bit, easy fix with reps and coaching. Powerful left-handed hitter who hit in the middle of the East Catholic lineup this past spring.

2/14/16

5-foot-10, 190-pound frame, the build is this thick and strong. Lower half is developed and wrists, hands have some strength to them. Offensively, hits from the left side, the stance is slightly open, balanced and a little wider than shoulder width. The hands are set just above the shoulders and are relaxed and loose. Shows to have a small trigger, picks foot up for his stride. The path is clean to contact, could keep the barrel in the zone a little longer, he gets out quick to the two handed finish. Swings the bat with authority, the tee exit velocity was 92 mph, hammered the baseball. Ran a 7.62 60-yard dash.  Defensively, he showed solid prep steps, got around the baseball well with momentum moving towards target. Hands are soft, worked well with his feet and his transfer was clean to throwing position. Arm action is short, crank like, out of little higher slot. Clocked at 76 mph across the diamond, had some carry to throws. Off the mound worked out of a easy simple delivery, slot is ¾ to high-¾. Lower half direction is good, pulls some with frontside, opens early at times. Minor collapse on the backside, with upper body leaning over waist. Fastball sat mid-70s, was down in the zone. The slurve was better than curveball, was thrown at 63 mph. Showed good feel for changeup at 68-69 mph.
