Draft-eligible last summer as a sophomore, DeLeo has always tantalized with his combination of athleticism and strength, but had yet to really put it all together for Georgia Tech. That is until this spring. Batting leadoff and playing center field for the Yellow Jackets, the 6-foot-1, 200 pound right handed hitter is currently batting .407 with 12 doubles, 10 home runs and five stolen bases. His speed also plays well in the outfield, where he has solid instincts and tracks the ball well.
Cape Cod: DeLeo has tantalized with his power/speed tool set since showing up at Georgia Tech and has put together flashes of excellence over his first two collegiate springs. The physical, athletic 6-1, 200-pounder ranked second on the Anglers with four homers this summer while hitting a respectable (for the Cape) .248, but his pitch selection remains a work in progress, as evidenced by his 44-13 K-BB mark. DeLeo's bat stays on plane for a long time but his hips can leak and his timing can be inconsistent, limiting consistent hard contact. His speed plays well in the outfield, where he has solid instincts and tracks the ball well.
Cape Cod- Stands out for his quick-twitch athleticism and his easy plus speed. He played outstanding defense in center field for Chatham, getting good jumps, taking good routes and showing a very playable arm. His skill set now is best suited to make him a line-drive-hitting table setter, and he gets into trouble when he sells out for power, which hasn't yet materialized for him (he hit .234 with one homer and three doubles in 11 at-bats this summer, but he stole seven bases). More work in the weight room should allow him to drive the ball with more authority in time.
6-foot-2, 195-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Ran an event best 6.56 sixty on the laser. The approach in the outfield is appropriate, needs to get rid of the ball a bit quicker on the throwing. Threw 90 mph from the outfield with carry and accuracy. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 100 mph as he is physical and strong. The setup is even in base, front foot steps into the swing. The path is long and strong to contact, 1-handed finish after contact. The hands have serous life to them. The skill set is outstanding, interesting to see how that translates to the game in the coming years.

Swings it very well from the right-side. The stance is balanced throughout, sprays line drive after line drive through the middle of the field. As he gains strength and matures should be a power guy to the alleys. An above average runner, throws it well from the outfield.
