6-foot-4, 180 pounds, Vereneau is long limbed and athletic, potential to add significant upper body strength. Showed enough speed that he could transition away from first base and into left field. The glove is average and the arm action on throws can get long from transfer to release, but is easily fixable, the arm was clocked at 72 mph. Vereneau is still slightly built, with plenty of room to add strength without sacrificing any of his athleticism. Despite the long limbs Vereneau has a compact swing from the right handed side. It is a line drive oriented approach but there is untapped power. The swing plane is often very level playing into the high contact he exhibits. If he tacks on the muscle to his frame that is available, he could breakout with very real game power next season.
