Joseph Nemchek, LHP/OF, Trumbull HS, 2016
9/19/15 – Nemchek is a 6-foot, 158 pound left-hander with a slender frame. He hit at the event, showing an 81 mile-per-hour exit velocity off of the tee. He has a short stroke with an abbreviated finish; he had a well-hit triple to the right-center field gap in the game portion of the event. His future at the next level is on the mound. He pitches with solid overhead rhythm and a ¾ arm slot. When online, he delivers the ball with low effort into the bottom 1/3 of the strike zone. He does pull off to his glove side which impacts his fastball command. The left-hander’s fastball sat 81-85 MPH and was largely straight. He showed just scattered command of his fastball, pulling off to his glove side. His best offering in this outing was his curveball which he spun between 69 and 71 MPH with tight spin and good, late depth. His changeup was 75-76 with fastball arm speed.

9/27/15
Quick arm left-hander, who had pitched the day before. There is some effort in his delivery as he pitches out of a ¾ arm slot. The fastball touched 84 and it has life to it. The slurvy breaking pitch is between and slider and breaking ball and touched 71. He does have crossfire to his feet and effort in his delivery but his stuff is good. He pitched in on right-handers and threw his slurve for an out pitch. The delivery is quick twitch with a high leg lift and effort towards the plate.  As a positional player, he threw 84 from the outfield with carry and accuracy. Showed a good feel for tracking down balls in the outfield as well. Tee exit velocity of 85. The setup at the plate is slightly open with his feet close together. Stands upright, the path is simple, he takes his hands to the ball and lets the barrel do the work. The finish needs to be completed.
