Big powerful right-handed hitter, starts with a wide base, hands are low and they get to the ball quick. The lower half is under control, which keeps him on time. The barrel is flat, the tee exit velocity was 91, serious juice in his hands. At 6-foot-2, 255-pounds he blasted balls to both gaps. Behind the dish, times to second were 2.17-2.25, arm strength was 70. The throwing motion isn't great, gets on the side of it, pushes it at times. Did a good job of receiving the ball, hands are soft. Footwork needs to quicken up and get faster, needs to get more flexible, needs to move a little better. There's no question he is going to hit and hit with some power, might have to convert to first base. Woodring is big, strong and has some feel at the plate.
