10/10/16
6-foot-4, 175-pound, long and lengthy athletic frame. The shoulders are square, back is wide, neck is long, has a ton of room for future development. A two way prospect at the current moment, I like him more off the mound. A right-handed pitcher, the arm is clean and works free. The fastball is in the low 80’s with a ton more in there, ball jumps when it gets to the plate. The breaking ball is more of a slurve pitch, has depth and pounds it for strikes, was clocked at 68-71 mph. The delivery needs to be tightened up slightly, pulls and leans with the frontside. The backside collapses at times. A football player, probably hasn't picked up a baseball for a couple months before this event, look for the fastball to climb rather quick. Offensively, hits from the right side, the stance is even, sits in a small squat, with the bat flat just above his back shoulder. The lower half is under control, stride is straight and soft. The swing is flat, rolls it early, has more of a pull approach. The tee exit velocity was 81 mph and ran a 4.5 from home to first. Defensively, plays the outfield, the arm is quick and powerful, clocked at 81 mph. The arm strength was a tick higher in summer before he started football. The athleticism and frame are there for a big jump, good looking arm.

6-foot-4,180-pound, long, lengthy, wiry strong athlete. The frame has plenty of room for future development, first time I've seen this kid, was very impressed with what I saw. A right-handed pitcher, has simple delivery, leg raise has a little coil to it at its gather. The arm works out of a high-¾ slot, pitches downhill with a heavy ball and he threw good low strikes. The fastball was 80-83 mph with life to it. The breaking pitching has slurve action to it, was thrown at 70-71 mph, opens it early, has good depth and break to it. The change up was 75 mph, needs some work, with coaching and reps should be a useable pitch. Offensively, hits from the right side, the stance is slightly wider and he sits in a small crouch. The hands are loose off the back shoulder, with some movement. The swing path is level to up with a two handed finish. The tee exit velocity was 79 mph, ball jumped off his bat. Time down the line was good at 4.38, showed an athletic kick. In the outfield, had a short, quick arm, clocked at 84 mph with life and carry. Routes were good with transfer being clean. Big time sleeper for me off the mound, the hands in gather position could get cleaned up and could be a bit stronger on the back leg, 2 easy fixes. Worth a serious look, get out and see him.
