5-foot-11, 176-pound, average athletic frame, back is wide, shoulders and legs have some strength to him. A right-handed pitcher, who has attended a few PBR events, continues to impress, competes at a high level off the mound. The delivery has tempo and timing to it. The hands start high and drop down on rocker step and then raise back up with leg raise. The delivery builds momentum and speed throughout. The arm action is a little longer on the backside, comes out of a natural ¾ slot. The fastball is pounded to both sides of the plate and is down in the zone, has some sink to the armside. The fastball was clocked at 79-82 mph, up a few ticks from previous workouts. The breaking ball was up a tick as well, clocked at 71-75 mph, more of a slider, comes out of the same slot as fastball, is an above average pitch. The changeup was 70-72 mph. Throws a heavy ball, times to the plate were 1.50, attacks the zone and hitters. At the plate, hits from the right side, the stance is wide hands start low, path is level, could stay through it more. The tee exit velocity was 80 mph. Projects for me as a bullpen arm who can throw multiple times on a weekend.
7/19/16
On the mound, the fastball touched 78 mph with arm side run. The breaking ball was short and very good at times, touching 74 mph. The pitch could be an out pitch with a little more hand speed to it. The changeup is a work in progress, touching 71. The delivery is clean with a ¾ slot. The lift is athletic and he repeats good direction with his feet. The glove side needs to be tightened up, as he pulls the glove and front shoulder of target too soon. Pounds the zone with strikes. At the plate, had a tee exit velocity of 86 mph as he hits out of a wide base with under control feet. Throws the barrel to the ball creating life with his hands. Ran a 4.58 down the line on his dig. In the field, showed average feet and a playable glove in the infield. Threw 77 mph across the diamond with accuracy. Should be a pitcher at the next level and he can spin the ball. 1.62 to the plate from the stretch.
3/2/16
5-foot-11, 175-pound average athletic frame, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed pitcher, delivery has good tempo and rhythm to it. The hands start chest high, on the step back they drop down and raise again with leg raise. The arm works out of a natural ¾ slot, it’s short and clean on the back side. He showed the ability to throw three pitches for strikes. The fastball was clocked at 77-78 mph, with good sink and he pounded the bottom part of the strike zone. Curveball was 67-69 mph gets around it, has some slurve break to it, also threw a slider at 72 mph with good depth. The change up has a chance to be a plus pitch thrown at 74-75 mph, sold it well with good arm speed. Times to the plate 1.40-1.62. A serious strike thrower, could stay stronger on the bottom half in the beginning part of delivery.
