Big and stocky right-handed pitcher with a repeatable delivery and clean arm path. The fastball touched 76 mph with arm side run to it. The spin pitch is a breaking ball, has the right shape, sitting at 66 mph. The changeup showed fade and depth to it, sitting at 70 mph. Showed an athletic lift to start the delivery and he opens the front foot too soon as he drives to home plate. Needs to stay close longer through leg drive. The slot is ¾ and the ball hand comes from near the ear. The direction of his feet are proper, the glove side has some pull to it, taking him off target.
7/12/16
6-foot, 220-pound thick durable pitchers frame, back and lower half are strong. A right-handed pitcher, the delivery is simple and repeatable and he pounds the zone with strikes. The hands stay at mid-chest throughout entire delivery and direction is in line for the most part. The arm works out of a natural ¾ slot, path is a little longer on the backside. Fastball was clocked at 80-82 mph and it was a heavy ball and sink with the 2 seamer. The breaking pitch has some slurve action to it, was thrown for strikes and was used as a putaway. The change was thrown at 69 mph, with downward action to it. The armside fastball and slurvy hammer are his go to. Times to the plate were 1.35 and worked quick in between pitches. Stay on him, has more in the tank.
7/14/15
At 6-foot-1, 200-pounds, this right-handed pitcher, has a thick, wide, durable pitchers body. The lower half is very strong. He pitches from a high-¾ slot, fastball is 80-81, it's a heavy ball with late action to it. The arm action is clean and works. Mechanically pretty simple, easy leg kick, separation is good, and direction to plate is inline. Front side flies open a little, needs to close it down. Curveball was 60-61, rolls it, needs to switch to a slider that has some velocity to it. Changeup was a plus pitch at 74-75, had good feel for it and was thrown with good arm speed. Will be interesting to see him develop, has a feel for pitching. Kyle is aggressive and comes after the hitters, needs to get in better shape, will be someone to watch over the next year.
