5-foot-11, 175-pound, strong, durable athletic frame. The hands and legs have strength to them. The frame has room to fill out. A right-handed hitting catcher. At the plate the stance is slightly open, feet are shoulder width apart. The hands are loose and start above the back shoulder, uses a small leg kick for timing and gains ground with stride. The swing is level and direct to the ball, gets whip out front with the barrel. The body is used entirely to hit the baseball, finishes the swing off with two hands. The tee exit velocity was 78 mph, has more in there. The 60 yard dash time was good at 7.04. Behind the plate, the setup is low, wide, sits on the flats of his feet and looks to be comfortable and relaxed. The hands are strong and gets behind and around the baseball well when receiving it. The transfer is quick, receives it with glove hand transferring it right across his face to throwing hand, no wasted movement at all. The arm action is short, has a small hesitation with hand just before arms starts to work forward. The arm was clocked at 74 mph, has strength, with a little carry, pop times were 2.06-2.10, throws were on the bag. Worked well in bullpen receiving, looked to be an easy target to throw to. Good follow, need to see him in the spring.
