6-foot-3, 190-pound, big, wide, physical frame. The shoulders are squared off, back is wide, the arms are long, hands are big, should be quite physical at some point. A right-handed pitcher, throws a heavy 2-seamer, with action to it, clocked at 78-84 mph, with the majority of them being at 83-84 mph. The delivery is clean and repeatable, hands start and stay at the midsection, separation is clean and on time, lead leg lands slightly across his body, the front side glove is inline with minimal pull, which helps him stay on target and gets squared up on release. The arm action is short and clean on the backside, works out of a natural ¾ slot, the arm is away from his head and works free and easy, look for the velocity to jump with it being effortless. The changeup is an above average pitch, clocked at 73-75 mph, with fade and good shape, has depth to it, chance to be a swing and miss offering. The breaking ball clocked at 68-71 mph, showed feel for throwing it for strikes, rotation was tight and had 11/5 shape to it. Times to the plate were at 1.70, needs to be quicker out of stretch. An increase in tempo of the delivery should help the velocity in spiking. Big follow for me, shows the ability to pitch down hill and to throw all three pitches for strikes, get out and see him this spring.
