8/9/17

5-foot-11, 165 pounds, wiry and athletic, sloped shoulders, long limbed. Projectable, with some more physical maturation could experience a velocity spike before his senior campaign. Slight coil, throws from a ¾ slot, easy mechanics, repeated delivery consistently. Shows ball at the backside but has leverage and length to it. Works with purpose and rhythm in game action. His fastball pops out of the hand with ease between 81-82 mph. It is heavy with some sink to it. Throws a big 11/5 curveball between 70-71 mph. Good movement that combines some early horizontal movement before diving to the lower part of the zone with sharp break. Mixed it in well off the fastball. Will need to hone a changeup as a show me offering to lefties in order to maximize the utility of his other pitches. Overall, Swift is a projectable right handed arm that, with further physical development and refinement of his arsenal, should compete at the next level. A definite follow moving forward.

3/8/17
5-foot-11, 165-pound, strong, wide durable athletic frame. Wiry strong, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed pitcher, fastball has some life and action to it, comes out of his hand well. The delivery is simple, quiet with the hands, strong on the backside and gets squared up on release, head is still. The arm action has average length on the backside, it's clean with no hesitation at all, works out of a higher ¾ slot. The fastball is heavy, clocked at 79-81 mph, the 2 seamer has late action to arm side. Breaking ball was clocked at 64-66 mph, has a bigger break, rolls it in there, needs to eventually move it to more of a slider, has the hand speed to do it. The changeup is still a work in progress, clocked at 70-71 mph, needs to get comfortable with grip, has proper velocity off the fastball. Times to the plate are good at 1.09-1.25, worked quickly in between pitches. Solid follow for me, more of a pen guy, velocity is going to climb. Showed to be aggressive in attacking the catcher, had poise and presence on the mound.
