6-foot, 205-pound, strong, wide physical frame, durable body for a catcher. A left-handed hitter, has improved a good amount behind the dish. The setup behind the plate, feet are close together, slightly side saddled, balanced and looks relaxed. The feet work well, gain ground towards target, the transfer is quick and he gets glove to hand across chest. The arm action is short and clean, elbow is loose and relaxed. Pop times were 1.97-2.06 and arm was clocked at 78 mph. The arm velocity is up three from the winter, which is a very good jump. Throws were on the correct side of bag and had good flight downhill. At the plate, hits from a balanced controlled setup and hands are loose at shoulder height. The feet are even, lower half is under control and he gains ground with the stride. The swing is level through the zone, rolls top hand early, could stay through it long and finish higher. The tee exit velocity was 83 mph, has more in there. In game at bats were good, worked deep counts, made solid contact on a laser to center. Defensively is advanced, get out and see him, has a chance to be good at the next level.
6-foot, 205-pound frame, average athletic build. Showed the ability to really catch and throw. The setup behind the plate, is relaxed, balanced and shows to be flexible. The footwork is clean, quick, the right foot replaces the left foot. The transfer is quick, brings glove to hand, across his chest. Clocked at 75 mph from the crouch, the arm action is very short and quick, has a little cup to the hand before release. Throws were close to bag, times were 2.00-2.05. Offensively, he hits from the left side, the stance is even, balanced and has a relaxed setup. Hands are loose just above the shoulders, has a small trigger and stride, stays balanced throughout the swing. The swing path is level across his chest, has a little pull to it. More of line drive approach, the tee exit velocity was 81 mph.
