10/10/16

6-foot-2, 203-pound, large, strong athletic frame. The frame is put together, is well proportioned, the back is wide and lower half is very strong. One of the better athletes at this workout, continues to get better with swinging the stick. A left-handed hitter, the hands start slightly below shoulder height. The lower half is even, has a minimal stride, the back half generates some power. The swing is level to up, needs to stay through it more, looks like he has worked at it, seems to be flatter through the zone. The tee exit velocity is an easy, 87 mph, with more in there once he stays through it longer. In game performance was outstanding, collecting two laser singles and a laser lineout to second. Times down the line are good at 4.4, runs very well for a big kid. Defensively, plays both outfield and first base, projects more  at first. The footwork is advanced around the bag, flow is good starting double play. The arm was clocked at 82 mph across the diamond and 81 mph from outfield. The footwork and exchange could get cleaned up a bit from the outfield. Big time sleeper, toolsy type athlete, if he continues to flatten the path, will take a serious jump.

6-foot-2, 200-pound, a physical athlete, proportioned well, hands and legs are very strong. A left-handed hitter, the stance is slightly open and wider than shoulder width. The hands are set slightly lower than shoulder height. For timing he has a small stride and his hands get back into a good hitting position. The path is level to up, could stay through it a little longer and he has made improvement from his previous workout. The bat speed is very good, tee exit velocity was 89 mph. The ball jumps off his bat, shows good power to all fields, with serious strength to the pull side. Ran 4.6 from home to first, plays faster than that in the game. Defensively, clocked at 80 mph from the outfield. The arm is clean and the ball comes out of a natural ¾ slot, showed good carry and his throws were on the bag. The footwork could be cleaner, is a short strider, and takes an extra step before releasing. Easy fix and ball will come out even better. At first base hands are soft and he picked balls on both sides of the bag. Footwork is quick in starting the double play, the arm is quick was 78 mph across the diamond. Powerful athlete, has raw power and is a definite follow.

1/18/16
An extremely athletic left-handed hitting outfielder/first baseman. Showed extremely well at this workout. At the plate, he showed a tee exit velocity of 89 mph and has serious juice in his hands. The stance is slightly short and a bit open. The hands are loose and set below the shoulders, gains good ground on the stride. Shows plus power to the pull side, could stay through the ball a bit more and flatten the path at end of swing. In the field, he showed the ability to play both first and the outfield equally well. In the outfield, he attacked balls well but, took one too many steps in transfer but that's an easy fix with reps and coaching. The arm registered at 83, had good carry and came out of his hand with ease. At first, he fielded balls out front and footwork was good around the bag. The hands are loose and arm is quick and fast. Looks to be light on his feet and has a good bounce to his step. Definite follow, has some tools.
