3/31/18 Spring Scout Blog: Uncommitted junior middle infielder looked stronger and more physical at second base. Plenty of arm strength, can turn the double play ball, solid defender. Drove baseball pull side gap for a triple in game one, chance to drive in runs at bottom of lineup. Average runner with good baseball instincts. Continuing to develop swing and strength, chance to play at next level.

2/17/18:  5-foot-10, 165 pound infielder is beginning to fill in his frame.  Athletic defender, bounce in his step.  Plays through the ball with soft hands, clean transfer.  Short arm swing, adjustable throwing slot.  Accurate throws topped 80 across the infield.  Hits from a wide setup, short stride.  Hands load back.  Uphill path to contact.  Partial use of lower half.  Spray hitter.  High exit velocity of 82.  Ran a 7.31 60 yard dash.

2/25/17:  5-foot-8, 150 pound infielder displayed quick, fluid footwork with soft hands up the middle.  Transfer is quick with a short, loose 3/4 arm slot.  Throws were made with accuracy topping out at 75mph.  In the box, Poynter hits form a wide base with back hand load and short stride.  Good balance, smooth rhythm.  Above average bat speed for size and age.  Path is long, uphill while producing some lifted line drives during his rounds of batting practice.  Ran a 7.45 60yd dash.

6/22/15: 5-foot-4, 120 pounds, ran a 7.65-60.  Defensively showcased athletic actions with above average hands and feet.  Exchange was quick.  Plays through the baseball.  Across the diamond was 66 mph with accuracy.  Offensively, he hits out of a wide stance, uses a leg kick.  Smooth load, good balance.  Bat speed is average.  Long path to the baseball, produced line drives.  Fluid rhythm in the swing.  Registered an exit velocity of 72 mph.
