4/5/13 Game Notes: Wichman is an undersized catcher that is very active and athletic. Wichman is accurate to second and works in the 2.1-2.2 range. He does not throw from a great slot behind the plate and the footwork needs to be cleaned up, but his athleticism plays. He has quick feet and runs very well. The swing shows promise, evidence of his hard hit double in the gap the other night. He will need to find the barrel more consistently, but Wichman is one to keep an eye on.

2/25/12: Christian Wichman is a 5-foot-7 165 pound catcher from Columbus East HS. Wichman is an athletic quick catcher that with a growth spurt could become a high follow in the class. Wichman ran a 6.81 sixty and showed a quick pop time of 2.06. At the plate, Wichman has some stiffness in his swing, but does display a short balanced compact swing.
