Gardner is a 5-foot-11 inch, 180 pound senior from Terre Haute North HS.  Gardner displays plus actions in the field at both 3B and SS.  His glove works and shows a strong arm across the diamond at 81 mph.  Despite not having great speed, Gardner still shows good footwork in the field with good range to both his left and right.  At the plate he shows quick hands and gets to extension well producing good barrel whip.  His swing is compact and uses his lower half well.  Gardner has the ability to hit for both power and average.

The 5-foot-9 shortstop really knows how to play the game. He possessed good infield actions with plus hands, good arm and solid feet. At the plate he has a quiet and compact stroke that produces line drives to all fields. Gardner is 5-foot-11 middle infielder with quick hands, both in the field and at the plate. He shows good range and a solid arm across the diamond (81 mph). Using a compact swing and an aggressive lower half, he displayed power to both sides of the field.
