9/30/18: 2021 OF with smaller 5’9 130 lb frame. Hits from the left side using an athletic set up with good rhythm and timing during BP. Showed ability to drive the ball the other way. Bat did tend to drag but strength will develop over time. Plays fluid in the OF with solid exchange with ability to work through the ball in the OF. Low arm slot release resulting in a 77 mph velocity from the outfield.
9/10/17: 60 Time: 8.40, Position Velocity: OF-71, Exit Velocity: 64. 5-foot-6, 110 pound freshman left handed hitting outfielder uses athletic setup with rhythm at the plate, line drive backside approach. Smooth athletic load with a leg lift, front foot lands slightly open in a strong position to hit, barrel laying flat to enter the zone. Average lower half, bat drags at contact due to lack of strength. Has some feel at the plate, more strength and mass needed to add to frame. Long clean arm action from the outfield, low arm slot release. Plays easy, with easy glove action and fluid exchange to throw. Athletic lower half and front side to throw, more arm strength in future. On the mound, clean, athletic delivery with good rhythm and direction, slightly closed and across body. Easy effort and actions, below average arm strength but still much more to be added. Spins glove side to finish, more length in stride. Feel for all three pitches. Fastball had life arm side, thrown at 66-69, pitches off fastball. Curveball was 58-59, tight spin at times, backed up at times out of zone. Chance to be good out pitch. Changeup was thrown at 62-66, arm side fade.
3/14/15: Justin projects on the mound with an easy delivery from the left handed side. His fastball has slight run and was thrown for strikes (61mph). His next best pitch was change-up, which had arm-side run and sink at 56mph. His delivery had good balance, lands square, and had smooth rhythm. At the plate, Justin has above average hands with a short stride and level bat path. His lower half can improve but he consistently barreled up pitches. His exit velo was 63. In the outfield, he played through the ball well with fluid actions. His arm action is long and loose. His OF velocity was 61mph. He throws form a ¾ arm slot and made accurate throws from the OF.
