2014 All-WAC - Honorable Mention

2/16/15 - Schumacher is a 5-foot-10, 170-pound second baseman and right-handed pitcher. Attends Hays HS in Hays, KS. Class of 2016. Bats right, tall set-up gets foot down early, smooth load, short path, some lift to swing, worked middle of the field. 83 mph exit velocity, ran a 4.35 home-to-first. In the infield showed soft hands, quick exchanges, high three-quarters arm action, and 73 mph throwing velocity, accurate throws. On the mound simple and under control delivery, tall balance point, short arm action, high three-quarters slot, athletic finish. Fastball 76-78 mph touched 80. Controllable 12/6 breaking ball, 67-69 mph, strikes. Change-up sinks and dies at plate, 71-73 mph. Solid all around player.

11/2/14 - Schumacher is an athletic 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-hand hitting infielder and right-handed pitcher. Tall set-up at the plate, open stance, early stride, minimal hand load, short bat path. Simple swing with balance, rhythm and flow, exit velocity 81 mph. One of the best rounds of batting practice on the day – line drives in the gaps. Ran a 7.25 60-yard dash. In the infield hands and feet work, easy three-quarters throwing motion, 75 mph throwing velocity. On the mound has an athletic delivery with rhythm. Turns at balance, hides ball. Short three-quarters arm action. Fastball at 76-78 mph. Breaking ball with 12/6 to 11/5 shape, at times short, 66-69 mph. Change-up with sink when down in zone, 69-70 mph. Solid prospect that carries himself with confidence and does a lot things on the baseball field well.

6/18/14 - Schumacher is a 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-handed pitcher.  He has a very simple delivery with inline direction and excellent body control throughout.  He throws with short, quick arm action from a three-quarters slot.  Schumacher’s fastball was clocked in the 75-78 mph range with arm side run.  He showed advanced feel 11/5 breaking ball that was clocked in the 66-68 range and also showed a shorter slider version at 70.  In warm-ups he showed an arm-side fading change-up as well.  In his one inning of work in the game he collected two called third strikeouts, one with the breaking ball, another freezing a hitter with his fastball.

6/18/14 - Schumacher is a 5-foot-10, 160-pound right-hand hitting infielder.  During infield work he showed athletic hands and feet and made all accurate throws using short, quick high three-quarters arm action.  His top throw was clocked at 75 mph.  At the plate he has an athletic set-up and slightly open stance.  He presets his hands and stride foot and has an easy, simple line drive swing.  His top exit velocity was 80 mph.  He ran a 4.72 from the right side.  In the games, Schumacher singled once in two at-bats.
