5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed pitcher and outfielder. Continues to progress nicely as a player as we have seen Patrick before. On the mound, the slot is slightly above ¾ and the direction to the plate with his feet is appropriate. The fastball has arm side run and sits at 78 mph. The spin pitch is wide, sitting at 62 mph. More fastball hand speed is needed to this pitch. The changeup needs a spin fix as it is cutting as opposed to pronating. The pitch sits at 71 mph. The arm works clean and quick. The tracking of the front shoulder needs to be more aligned with home plate, he runs away from his arm at this point. Better direction with the top half will allow him to pitch to his potential. The arm has quickness to it. Defensively , threw 75 mph from the outfield with a proper approach and footwork through the ball. The movements are athletic. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 80 mph to it. Sets up with a wide base and relaxed hands to start. The path is long to the ball, as he needs better direction with the initiation of the swing. The bottom half has minimal movement to it.
Tee Exit Velo- 80 mph
OF Velo- 75 mph
1.18.2016
Right-handed pitcher who also worked out as an infielder as well. In the field, threw 69 mph across the diamond as the footwork needs to be cleaned up. The glove is fine as his hands are soft. Ran a 6.91 60-yard dash, which is outstanding for his age, very good athlete. The bat needs strength as he had a tee exit velocity of 78 mph. The bottom half of his swing needs to get under control as he has a great deal of movement within his feet. The hands work but he pulls off target a bit. On the mound, I like him. The fastball comes out of his hand nicely, ¾ arm slot. The fastball touched 75 mph. The breaking ball had the correct shape at 61 mph. The changeup need some fade to it but the velocity in done correctly. The delivery is on time, lined up and his long arm action works. Prospect on the mound for sure.
