9/19/15 – O’Malley is 5-foot-10, 145 pounds with a slender build and a bulldog mentality on the mound. Lacking in size, O’Malley makes up for it with aggressiveness, mechanical efficiency, and arm speed. He possesses good tempo, efficient pelvic loading, and a quick, loose arm. Pitching from a high ¾ arm slot, O’Malley’s fastball sat in the 80-83 mile-per-hour range with occasional cut. He has good spin potential and some late bite on his 65-68 MPH curveball. His breaking ball could pick up in velocity with some more arm speed applied. He does keep good arm speed on his changeup, however. It was 72-73 MPH with solid downward movement. Definitely look for O'Malley to debut on the Top 200 rankings. Watch closely for a climb if he dedicates himself to putting on mass.
