This 2017 right hander stands 6-foot-1, 170-pounds with a long athletic build.  He uses a high powerful leg kick well behind the rubber and drives well downhill. He has a high 3/4 arm action and works well over a stiff front leg creating good whip.  With an athletic build and live arm he should be one to keep an eye on this summer as he takes the mound for his junior season.  The mechanics and build are there to add some velocity when in mid season form.

Hufland stands 5-foot-10, 155-pounds with a slender build. From the MIF he stays behind the ball, glove open, funnels away from body. Arm action is back, release is quick from a high-3/4 slot. Arm strength is 64 mph. From the plate his setup is relaxed. On the pitch he strides with a back load for timing. Long path to the ball, barrel is slightly uphill, long extension, shoulder height finish. Exit velocity off a tee 76 mph.

Pitching - He uses a quiet, clean delivery from the mound. Back step, high knee lift, hands high, break when knee starts going down. His arm action is down - long - clean with slight uphill shoulder tilt. Throws from a high-3/4 slot, long extension, strong finish over front side.
