Athletic 6-foot-1, 185-pound RHP with a pitcher’s build. Pitching - uses height out ¾ slot to get downward plane on fastball with arm-side run at 76-78 MPH, effectively changes eye level, spots pitches on both sides of the plate, confidently throws 12-to-6 curveball at 64-65 MPH for strikes, consistently induces weak contact, throws change-up at 69-70 MPH for strikes.
Preseason All-State (February 20, 2017)
Prototypical pitcher's build at 6-foot-1 185 pounds. Gross ran 7.34 60. Pitching- Sets up center rubber, sliding pivot foot into place before driving up just above his belt for a balance point. Arm action is long with some late acceleration through a low 3/4 arm slot. Lands on the heel and works through his front side vs. up and over; some slinging action producing some arm side run to his FB at 78-80 MPH. CB sat 67-68 with some late down action; 12-6/1-7 shape.
