Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Slow tempo delivery. Low front side and efficient lower half. Use minimal effort working through a long arm action and 3.4 slot. Fastball: 80-84 mph fastball works on a downward plane with slight run to the arm side. Curveball: 72-75 mph curveball has an 11/5 shape. The pitch shows good depth and is fairly sharp. Changeup: 73-74 mph changeup is thrown with fastball like arm action. The pitch has regular sinking action through the zone. Pitchability: Offers a true three pitch mix. Fastball was erratic at times but in the zone enough. Shows good feel for the breaking ball and it looks to be a plus offering in the future. Changeup is playable. Role: At this stage starting would be best course of action. Solid stuff and decent feel. Would like to see fastball command improve moving forward. Good candidate for a velo jump. Body Type: 6-foot-4 230-pound prospect. Swing Mechanics: Uses a leg kick to initiate his load. Shows an on plane bat path and keeps his barrel through the zone well. Hit: Good barrel control. Power: 90 mph exit velocity. Offensive Projection: With his big frame and a swing that’s conducive to power he should eventually develop into a legit power threat. Ball seemed to jump during his round of BP. Once he gets in more control of his body he should start tapping into even more of his raw power. Should be a D1 follow this spring and summer. Field: Attacks the ball well and plays through it. Shows good footwork and a clean arm. Throw: 83 mph from the outfield. Run: 4.51 home to first. Defensive Projection: Shows adequate speed for a corner OF spot at the next level. Should be a guy who eventually has the arm strength to be a true RF option.
