Hayden Bucher: RHP/3B, (2022) St. Francis DeSales, OH. 6-foot-1, 230-pound. On the mound, showing quick arm speed he used an over-the-top arm angle and a compact arm action. Up-tempo type pitcher and shows some effort. Showed a consistent balance point. Changeup (61-62 mph). Threw his fastball 80-83 mph with a max of 86 mph; shows sinking action with tight movement. Threw a 12/6 curveball (68-69) with hard action.
Hayden Bucher: RHP/3B, (2022) St. Francis DeSales, OH. 6-foot-1, 235-pound solid frame. On the mound, showed good arm speed, also used a ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Slow-tempo type pitcher who uses some effort. Showed a strong balance point. Sat with his fastball at 83-85 mph; shows arm side command and running action. Throws a 11/5 curveball (68-71) with plus action. His changeup (71-72) shows arm side control and fading action.
Scouting Notes: Physical presence on the mound. Works quickly with looseness to his arm. Could see more velocity in the tank down the road. Complements the fastball with sharp down action. Present swing/miss. Changeup is also a playable offering. Three-pitch righty.
Fastball: 81-83 mph.

Delivery Notes: Bucher shows a thick build with decent athleticism through his delivery. He throws from a ¾ slot.
Fastball: Fastball was 80-81 mph with decent life and ‘ride’ through the zone.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1880-2170
Curveball: Breaking ball was 69-72 mph and showed decent depth at times.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1870-2190
Changeup: Changeup was 73-74 mph and mostly true through the zone.
Pitchability: Bucher showed pretty good feel for his three pitch mix. Breaking ball showed as above average at times. Fastball and breaking ball paired well together.
2/9/20 Position Player
Hit:Physical bat from the right side. Uphill path with obvious strength. Has some things to clean up but the tools are there. Easy juice.
Power:Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection:Middle.
Field:Solid defender over at third base. Simple movements with serviceable ball skills.
Throw: Average strength to above average strength.
Defensive Projection: Corner Infield.
2/10/19 Pitching
Body Type: Only a freshman. Has some size and strength to his frame at 5-foot-11, 225-pounds.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Throws with short arm action through over the top slot. Big leg kick. Maintains direction and momentum towards the plate.
Fastball: Ticked up to 78 mph, mostly sitting 75-76 mph. Occasional arm side run.
Curveball: Sat 65-66 mph. Tendency to slow his arm down. Not as tight break as his slider but located in the zone.
Slider: Best off-speed offering. Sharper 11/5 break at 66-69 mph. Good hand speed to the pitch.
Changeup: Mostly straight at 70 mph. In the zone, but not an effective pitch at this stage.
Summary: Solid foundation for his age. Showed glimpses of above average velocity for a freshman as well as an above average breaking ball with his slider. Interesting follow as he firms up his body and continues to improve his mechanics.
