4/2/17 - Macewen improved his exit velo and infield numbers since February and the 2018 grad will look to continue to increase numbers as he matures and develops his game. Can create more load with backside at the plate and look to loosen up his hips to generate more into swing. On the mound, more length to his stride will help as he did get on top of the ball and work in the zone for the majority of his session. Room for him to lengthen and create more intent to his delivery.

2018 grad listed at 5-foot-7, 155-pounds with room to add size and muscle to frame. Ran a lasered time 60 of 7.53. Defensively, threw from high-3/4 arm slot as he fielded balls middle of body and was clocked at 69 mph across the diamond. Ability to sync footwork with glove will help lead to more fluid actions for MacEwen. Offensively, starts with weight in middle of body, hands are back, can generate more with bat angle and use of lower half, some length to swing and finishes with one hand, exit velocity was 67 mph. On the mound, MacEwen worked from high-3/4 arm slot with a fastball that topped out at 74 mph. Curveball sat in the low 60's with 10/5 shape while changeup with get some fading action when he was able to get out front at 68 mph.
