9.9.17 - Vandenberg is a big physical kid for his age class of 2020 at 6-foot-1, 190-pounds. Small leg kick to load and hands are loose and work back to launch, ould cut swing off at times, best when he stays through ball and lets his arms and hands get extended. Adequate defender at first, made all the plays and fits the profile with size as a first baseman. On the mound, gets balanced over the rubber, arm gets high in the back and works from high-3/4 slot, room to involve more lower half and use his size and strength on the mound. Love the size and no red flags in his actions, will be interesting to track the development of Vandenberg moving forward.
