2018 left-handed pitcher with frame to add size to at 5-foot-11, 155-pounds. Ran a lasered timed 60 at 7.41 with clean actions and regular effort. From the outfield, incorporated big crow hop to throws, losing some strength in lower half, arm was clean in the back, at times would get long and unable to get on top and out front, velocity from the outfield was 75 mph with some tailing action to his throws. Offensively, left-handed bat with some rawness to swing, showed some hand speed in the cages as he peppered some balls right back up the gut, hands first movement is down, getting to steep with his barrel at time and in and out of the hitting zone. Small corrections can help McKnight get the most of his ability at the plate, exit velocity was 83 mph. On the mound, the lefty moved well with body and lower half, arm would drag at times not allowing him to create downhill action and live in the bottom of strike zone with his fastball that was 75 mph. Lacked feel for secondary stuff but the athleticism and actions tells us there is more to come with proper reps and adjustments. Young 2018 with athletic actions and movements, McKnight will improve from lots of reps, innings, and added strength gains.
