2016 grad who plays third base as well as second. Aggressive hitter who does not get cheated at the plate. James stats slightly open with leg kick to load. Hands are quiet with small trigger, stays balanced at contact and works more to pull side. Strength is there in his 5-foot-9, 175-pound frame with an exit velocity of 87 mph off the bat. Bat path is slightly uphill with one-handed release. Stayed on breaking balls in game, seeing it well out the hand. Defensively, James shows good actions with his glove, confident in his hands and made all the plays. Arm was loose with easy action across the infield, clocked at 77 mph. Footwork and quickness can improve as Malik shows ability to make plays with his glove and produce quality at-bats.
