3/5/2016
Big body two-way player at 6-foot-3 and 200-pounds. Hits from a neutral, upright stance with an inverted toe-tap timing mechanism. Bat path works with natural lift to swing with some pop, posted an 87 mph exit velocity. Tends to get out front and become unbalanced, all relates to timing. Defensively, moves well for someone his size. On the mound, Brimacombe throws from a 3/4 slot with a smooth tall-and-fall delivery. Fastball sits 76-78 mph with some run. Curveball was 65-67 mph has some nice, sharp 11-5 break. Changeup sat at a consistent 70 mph with arm side run. 2017 grad who should attract some college interest.
6/24/15
Big frame, 6-foot-2, 190-pound two way player with room to get stronger. Moves well around the bag at first, ran a 7.50 in the 60-yard dash. Infield velocity was clocked at 72 mph. At the plate, hits with hands up and leg kick to stride. Bat path has some lift, can get long when he tries to get big. More power to pull side. Exit velocity was 83 mph. On the mound, Brimacombe has an easy delivery and separates over the rubber with clean arm path from a ¾ arm slot. Tends to fall off to first base side, causing arm to drag. Fastball worked at 74-75 mph with some tailing action. Curveball was 61-63 mph with 11/5 shape, showed bite when he was able to get out-front and stay online. Changeup was 66-68 mph. Ability to repeat delivery and stay online will pay off for Brimacombe
4/4/15
Standing at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, Brimacombe, a 2017 grad, has a lot of room for added strength gains. Topping out at 74 mph, sitting at 72-73 with his fastball, Shane used an over the top arm action while showing good control with subtle movement. Shane was able to throw his curveball for strikes at 61 mph with 12/6 shape. Changeup worked between 61-66 mph. Maintaining arm speed on all three of his pitches will be the key for Brimacombe to be successful and deceptive with his arsenal. Offensively, hit from an upright position with slight knee bend. Hands start up and use a small hitch down to get started. Bat path is pretty flat through zone with average bat speed. Exit velocity was 85 mph. More in there. At first base, made the plays around the bag and a few nice short hops in defensive evaluations. Velocity across the diamond was 74 mph. Big frame fits the profile. Added strength and some quick twitch will benefit Brimacombe moving forward.
