At 5-foot-10, 185-pounds, the 2016 grad Cox, has strength starting with a good lower half. With good flow to his delivery, Tyler was able to consistently throw strikes with his over the top arm action, with a fastball sitting at 78-80 mph, good depth on curveball at 68-69 mph and good arm action on changeup at 70-71 mph. As a position player, Cox showed strength with an exit velocity of 85 mph. The ball jumps off the bat when he gets extended, with natural lift and gap power. Defensively, the arm works across the diamond, as well as showing good instincts coming through ball and making the plays in the field. He was clocked at 78 mph across the diamond.
2016 grad with current strength and some physicality to him. Hit with knees slightly bent with toe turn to stride and separation. Exit velocity was clocked at 85 mph while he hit some long balls in batting practice with some lift and loft to his swing. Ball jumps when he gets extended. Defensively, arm worked across the diamond, arm strength is there. Ball showed good carry to bag while he attacked the ball and made the plays. Off the mound, Cox used a good tempo delivery, incorporating his strong lower half into his delivery. Fastball was in the zone at 78-80 mph while he flashed his curveball with depth at 68-69 mph. Changeup showed good arm speed with some sink to his arm side. A quality three pitch mix of the mound for Cox.
