9.9.17 - Kovats, an unsigned senior listed at 6-foot-1, 156-pounds and room to add more strength to frame. Left-handed bat with good actions and easy swing at the plate, god load back with hands, small stride and stays balanced through swing, added strength will play key role in offensive game as the actions are there with good setup and path to contact. From the outfield, attacks ball with aggressiveness, arm has some length in the back which would cause him to cast at times. does good job of getting lined up and using his lower half. On the mound, Kovats had a slow tempo with delivery, stayed balanced through finish and was able to throw fastball for strikes with some cutting action. Curveball had some downward action and showed some feel. Added strength will be key for Kovats this winter as he looks to add to his numbers and prep for a big 2018.
