Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
6/15/16 5-foot-11, 155-pound thin, projectable body frame. On the mound he uses regular effort to his delivery. Uses a good hip load to generate velocity. Lands slightly more closed at foot strike and finishes with his momentum starting to carry toward first base. He throws using average arm speed through an upper ¾ to an over the top arm slot. His fastball was between 73-74 mph. His curveball has gradual break, with 11/5 tilt at 63-66 mph. He also threw a hard changeup, using fastball arm speed between 69-70 mph. From third base he has a tendency to stop his feet when fielding ground balls hit at him, and would benefit by being more aggressive and playing through the baseball like he does when he has to move laterally to get ground balls. Fields the ball with his hands out in front of his body and shows the ability to move well laterally, covering ground. Throws with a clean arm action through a ¾ slot, reaching a top velocity of 67 mph. Left-handed hitter starts from an open stance, using a leg kick to get himself squared back to even before he swings. Uses a short, fluid load with his hands moving back, and finishes with a two-handed follow through. Showed the ability to use both sides of the field during his round of batting practice and finishes with a top exit velocity of 75 mph. He also ran a 7.79 60-yard dash.
