6/20/17

6-foot-3, 205-pound, wide, large, strong physical frame, his strength throughout. A right-handed hitter, the stance is wider than shoulder width, front foot is slightly open, hands are held above the back shoulder, bat starts in a flat position. For timing uses a high controlled leg kick, gains a good amount of ground with stride, helps provide some juice to the swing, which helps get his weight and hands back into a good hitting position, weight is back when front foot strikes. The bat is flat through the zone, it’s level across the chest and finishes high with two hands. The swing creates lift and lift to the baseball. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 85 mph, took two solid rounds of batting practice, displaying good power to the gaps. Time down the line was at 5.02, needs to work on quickness and speed. Defensively worked out at first base. Looked to be quick off the bag, showed good footwork around the bag, used both feet on wide throws, is a very large target to throw too. The feet work well with the hands when starting the double play, arm action is short and clean, works out of a ¾ slot. The arm was clocked at 68 mph across the diamond, needs to add some strength but showed good touch and feel to all throws. Good looking prospect who has a serious chance to hit with power down the road.

Home - First: 5.02

Exit Velocity: 85 mph

Arm Velocity: 68 mph

6/23/16

6-foot-2, 180 pound right-handed hitting first baseman/outfielder. Tee exit velocity of 84 mph as he hits out of an even stance and a high back elbow. The bat path needs to be flattened thru the zone, as the hand are free and should be able to adjust. Ran a 4.85 on a dig to first base. The glove is solid at first base and the velocity across the infield was 69. I like the body frame and the athleticism as time will tell if he can continue to improve.
