10/11/15 - The 6-foot-1, 160 lefty with a lanky, athletic build uses long arm action through a high-3/4 slot, arm is deceptively quick, delivery has some effort, produced a high rate of ground balls. Wyse’s fastball sat at 78-80mph with good arm side run. He also showed a curveball that sat at 68-69 mph coming from a higher ¾ arm slot giving it a 1/7 break. He does a good job of attacking hitters in the strike zone and gave up two hits in two innings pitched with one strikeout for the maroon team. Wyse has the potential to add more velocity and is an interesting LHP from the 2016 class.
As a position player, posted a 7.41 60 time and had a 75 mph position velocity across the infield. Defensively, Wyse has average arm strength, accuracy on throws, fluid footwork around the first base bag, soft hands, good athleticism. Offensively, Wyse had a 78 mph exit velocity off the tee. He hits from an open setup and squares front side with a leg kick and mid-length stride, uses his lower half well, has good overall balance, aggressive approach, has a level path with extension, hands are loose and creates some barrel whip through the zone. Wyse went 1 for 4 during game play with a single.
