Long and athletic right-handed hitting catcher and first baseman from Vermont. Behind the plate he threw 70 mph and had a pop time of 2.08. The receiving needs to be soften as securing the catch needs to improve. Blocks and recovers well. The throwing path and footwork during the transfer can be improved as well. He is a very good athlete, therefore making some changes in his development are possible cause of his athleticism. Ran a 4.4 down the line on his dig to first base. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 82 mph. Starts with his feet even and goes front knee to back knee as the ball approaches. Getting his feet under control a little more will help him stay in his swing. The path of the bat is uphill, needs to work the barrel above the ball, flattening the swing. Good looking athlete.

New York Games (June 27-29, 2016)
Crumb sits at 6-foot-1; 175 pounds with a tall, lean, athletic body frame. Offensively-Starts extremely open with back knee bent and hands in front of back shoulder. On pitch his trigger is a high knee raise with a step forward getting him square with the pitcher. Hands move back slightly into a good position behind his back shoulder. Swing plane is short to the hitting zone with good back action. Follow through is with two hands high around head. Lower body rotation can be improved with more aggressive hip action. Displayed an exit velocity of 83 mph. Defensively-Good athletic stance catching. Quiet body when framing. Good athletic catch and release throwing down hill towards second. Pop time recorded at . Displayed a position velocity of 72 mph (+4 MPH from Nov. 2015).

Last Chance Preview Showcase (November 29, 2015)
E van is a well put together 6-foot-1, 170 pound catcher who ran a 4.76 home to 1B and had a 77 MPH exit velocity. Offensively- Evan starts in a spread yet even position with his hands off his body, even with his back shoulder. He uses a slight take back with his hands and short stride, keeping his weight back. Works down to level with swing path, into a high finish. Could be more aggressive via the back foot and lower half. Repeats efforts with line drive results. Defensively- Receives  the ball with cushion from a compact primary position. Turns over properly with balls in the dirt but sits too far back on legs, creating less surface area. Stays in a primary setup when throwing, showing proper footwork to glove side. Exchange occurs a bit late, once he's stood up. Once the ball is in his hand, arm action is short and throws are on line. Earlier transfer and staying lower will get him to the sub 2.1 range (was 2.13 range today). Arm strength was 68 MPH.
