He makes athletic plays through the ball. At the plate, the switch hitter has an athletic setup and a smooth load with a short stride. He has above average bat speed and a short, level swing plane. Showing gap-to-gap power, Castellano has fluid rythm and a good approach from both sides of the plate. He has a solid lower half but from the left side will block off his hips by stepping across his body and will hit steep and uphill. As athletic as Castellano is, he will easily be able to make adjustments.
