10/13/13 - 5-foot-6, 150-pound strong, fast twitch athlete. Ran a 6.89 60. In the outfield showed quick, athletic movements and footwork, and plays through the ball aggressively. Arm works well at 86 mph with carry. Behind the dish he throws with a short arm from over-the-top. Has quick catch and release with solid carry at 74 mph and pop times in the 2.05-2.1 range with accuracy. At the plate has a wide, balanced setup with very short stride. Bat path is short and flat with above average bat speed, producing hard contact line drives. Exit velocity off a tee was 79 mph.

2/17/13 - Undersized athlete, 5-foot-8, 145-pounds, sneaky strong frame, quick twitch actions, ability to play multiple positions. Defensively, quick footwork behind the plate, 2.10-2.18 pop time. Shows actions from the outfield, 86 mph arm strength, arm shows carry, stays on line, true hop off turf, aggressive crow hop. Higher projection as an outfielder. Offensively hits from slightly open stance, uses short stride. Bat path is short, compact tendencies, line drive hitter. Could improve offensively by staying closed on front side.

10/21/12 - Bland is a quick-twitch, athletic multi-positional player. Bland recorded pop times of 2.11-2.25 showcasing quick feet out of the crouch. In the outfield, Bland’s arm worked well at 84 mph while playing through the ball well and showing off his quick feet. Bland also ran a 7.00 60. Offensively, he hits from an open stance using a short stride. His bat path is level and showed extension while working mainly to his pull side.

Christian Bland is a Class of 2014 C/OF from Harlan HS. Bland is a 5-foot-4, 145-pound athletic player who displayed quick feet in the outfield. At the plate, Bland exhibited a well balanced, smooth swing which stayed level through the zone finding the barrel consistently.

1/22/12 Bland is a 5-foot-8, 145-pound multi-positional talent who showed well in all facets of the game.  Bland showed best in the infield, using his athleticism as he moved with fluidity as he made each play.  His athleticism was continually noticed as he showed good actions in the outfield and had an accurate arm (80 mph).  Behind the plate, Bland had a top pop time of 2.14 with throws around the bag each time.  At the plate, Bland has a balanced setup and an easy swing maintaining good balance throughout. Additionally, Bland ran a 7.33 60.
