10/14/12 - The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Balogh has an athletic, projectable frame. Balogh’s arm works clean and easily, coming from a high-3/4 slot, short on the backside. His fastball, in the 79-80 mph range, showed some arm-side run, while his 68 mph curveball showed 11/5 shape. Balogh also threw a 66-67 mph changeup with similar arm action.
2/20/12 Balogh is a projectable 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-handed pitcher who has a quick, loose arm action. Coming from a high 3/4 arm angle, his arm works with little effort. Balogh’s fastball topped at 81 mph, but with his length and arm quickness, he should see his velocity climb in the coming years. Balogh commanded the strike zone with three pitches, including a 66-68 mph curveball that has a sweeping action, and a 75-78 mph changeup that demonstrated sink down in the zone.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-hander has a loose arm and a lean, projectable frame. He operated from a high ¾ arm slot with a fastball that sat at 78-79 mph and topped at 80 mph. Balogh showed a feel for a changeup and curveball displayed some depth. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound right-hander operated from a high � arm slot with good rhythm throughout. Balogh displayed a clean arm action and showcased a fastball that sat at 75-77 mph. He additionally displayed some feel for his change which exhibited some fade down in the zone.
On the mound, the long and loose 6-foot-1, 165-pound right-hander topped at 78 mph. His arm works free and easily, and has a projectable frame, leading us to believe he should continue to see a velocity increase as he physically develops. His curveball showed some depth with an 11/5 shape. Balogh also showed feel for a developing changeup.
This athletically built infielder had a solid all-around performance, as he graded out well in all facets. He showcased clean footwork and lateral quickness at third base, as well as an accurate arm with good whip action. He possesses the ability to drive the ball to all fields and showed good command of the zone on the mound.
