Waalkes has a 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame with broad shoulders. He has a long, loose arm action with a high-3/4 arm slot. He was able to repeat his delivery and showed consistency with his arm speed on all three pitches. His fastball was heavy and sat 84-85 mph with some sink at times. He threw a curveball that was 71-74 mph and had good depth to it with 11/5 break and he also threw a tight slider that was 79-80 mph that had 10/4 break on it. His changeup was 75-76 mph and had a little run on it. He does a good job of using his strong legs to drive off the rubber.
6/23/15
