Initial Class of 2027 Player Rankings

In 2023 we crowned four state champions during the spring and enjoyed a full summer and fall with tournaments/showcases throughout the state. During this time, we have searched far and wide throughout the state to find the best prospects we can, to help them get to college and to help colleges find prospects that fit their culture.

With many names be noted and talked about by some of the most prestigious programs in the nation. Below we will take a look at the Top 10 prospects.

The Top 10

Broder Katke C / 3B / Detroit Country Day School, MI / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 1 / POS: 1 Report: Broder has been one of the more consistent players in our 2027 class on a state and national levels. He pledged his commitment to Chris Pollard and the Blue Devils of Duke. A strong, physical catcher with a good build. Advanced IQ for the game that will continue to grow as he begins his high school career.

Aiden Pack RHP / 3B / Orchard Lake St Marys, MI / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 2 / POS: 1 Report: An athletic two-way hailing from Orchard Lake St. Mary's. Versatile athlete with a strong arm and movements for the age. On the bump, already features a fastball into the mid-80s. Pack will be a solid follow as he begins his high school career this spring.

Dominic Bonnetti SS / RHP / Richmond, MI / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 3 / POS: 1 Report: The younger sibling of Wright State commit, Anthony Bonnetti, Dominic features an above-average glove from the left side with good movements and an already solid frame to pair with it. Look for Dominic to make noise this spring for Richmond with his glove and bat.

Cal Plarske 3B / RHP / Bay City Western, MI / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 4 / POS: 1 Report: Hitters hit, and this is no different for Plarske who made a strong first impression at our Junior State Games. Featuring a smooth swing from the left side, has shown ability to drive balls into the alleys. Will be a problem for a lot of pitchers in the years to come.

Cameron Thorning C / Woodhaven High School, MI / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 5 / POS: 2 Report: A fixture in the Downriver youth baseball system the last few seasons, Thorning isn't shy of big stages. A slender frame that'll continue to fill as he matures. Another left-handed stick in the Mitten State that turn heads in 2024 and beyond.

Ryder Concannon OF / RHP / Saline, MI / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 6 / POS: 1 Report: Concannon, a two-way prospect, already possesses a strong arm for his class and size. A fastball already into the low-80s. High ceiling two-way, who could turn out to be a special arm in the 2027 Michigan class.

Jackson Fossitt LHP / 1B / Leslie , MI / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 7 / POS: 1 Report: Fossitt presents a large frame with a 3/4 delivery and strong poise on the hill. The Junior Future Games participant looks to make a strong impact early for Leslie high school this spring and continue his trajectory upward.

Cooper O'Keefe RHP / 3B / Orchard Lake St. Mary's, MI / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 8 / POS: 2 Report: A JFG participant who projects well off the mound with a sound and compact delivery. Fastball w/ deceiving angle and arm-side run and a slider that has tight shape. A name to keep a close eye on in the class.

Memphis Wirtz 1B / RHP / Battle Creek Lakeview, MI / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 9 / POS: 1 Report: Wirtz could have the largest raw power in the 27 class with a strong build hailing from the Cereal City. Already a threat at the plate for extra-base hits, look for Memphis to make a name for himself early for Coach Kracht and the Lakeview Spartans.

Colin Bennett RHP / Novi, MI / 2027 Rankings  StateRank: 10 / POS: 3 Report: Bennett has makings to be an electric player in the class with already plus habits and attention to detail. Athletic arm and pedigree will be needed to keep an eye on down the road.
