Hoey has a broad-shouldered 5-foot-10, 170 pound frame. He gets to a wide base when he strides and has a level swing after creating a lot of separation with his hands. His exit velocity was 89 mph and he ran a 7.38-second 60. He shows good rhythm with his feet on the infield and fields the ball out front of his body with smooth hands. His infield position velocity was up to 84 mph. On the mound, he uses a short arm action and throws from an over-the-top arm slot. His fastball sat 79-82 mph with some downward action. His curveball sat 61-67 mph with 12/6 break on it and good depth. His split-finger has good depth to it at 69-72 mph. He showed the ability to repeat his mechanics with each pitch and throw all three pitches for strikes.

5-foot-8, 150-pound frame. Even stance in the box. Early load and quick swing. Likes the ball middle-in but still flashes ability to work the opposite field. Quick first step at shortstop helps lateral range. Good fielding position lines up body to make throws to first base. Registered a 77 mph arm velocity. On the mound, has an over-the-top arm angle, but occasional lowered his slot. Easy delivery, fastball sat 76-78 mph with occasional arm side movement.

5-foot-8, 150-pounds. ¾ arm action with clean mechanics. Great command of fastball at 77-79 mph. Curveball with gradual break at 61-63 mph. Split finger with plus sink at 65-74 mph. Showed solid footwork and soft hands at shortstop. Threw 75 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.53 60-yard dash. Open to even stance with quick hands in a compact swing. Bat speed registered at 76 mph.
