5-foot-9, 148-pound athlete. Slightly closed stance. Works in a line drive approach with good extension. Shows ability to hit the ball to the opposite field. Bat exit speed registered at 68. Fundamentally sound middle infielder with strong footwork and glove actions. Alkema has soft hands that allows him to field the baseball with ease. He attacks the baseball well, positioning his body well enough to make strong, accurate throws across the diamond. Arm velocity was 74 mph.
