LHP/OF Brody Irlbeck (Staley, 2025; Iowa commit) continued to solidify his status as one of the top two-way follows in Missouri. At 6-foot, 160-pounds, Irlbeck started the event off by repeating quality contact in BP, peppering line drives throughout from a loose left-handed stroke. Later, Irlbeck hopped on the mound and provided the day’s most impressive look, tossing two quality innings during the gameplay portion of the event. He produced easy velocity from a loose ¾ slot, pitching at 83-86 mph with his fastball - and there’s more velocity to come. Irlbeck’s primary secondary offering is a true swing-and-miss changeup with late fading action off a fastball plane, and he spun a slider with some sweep around the zone, too. A top-25 prospect in this class, Irlbeck’s progression from now until the spring season is something we’ll be eager to see.

A recent Iowa commit, LHP Brody Irlbeck (Staley, 2025) was another major winner from Creekside, impressing our staff on the mound across multiple looks and slotting in at No. 23 overall. The 6-foot, 160-pound southpaw pitched in the low-80s this summer with his fastball topping at an easy 85 mph early on in the Midwest Premier Super 15. He’ll spin a short wrinkle breaking ball at 70-72 mph and his primary secondary is a low-70s changeup with natural late fade to the arm-side. Irlbeck’s loose arm, projectable frame, and overall ease to his downhill operation suggests there’s a fairly high ceiling on the mound for one of Missouri’s top southpaws.

6-foot, 160-pound athletic build with room to fill out. Has impressed on both sides of the ball this summer circuit. Loose, athletic left-handed stroke with line drive feel, flat path to contact. Was up to 84 mph on the mound at the MOKAN Top Prospect Games in late June with a curveball and changeup to pair. A follow left/left athlete that’s ranked inside the top-30 prospects on Missouri’s 2025 board.

FB: T83.7, 81-83 mph. Present arm-side action created from slot. Clean out the hand, velocity projects. T2241, 2182 average rpm.
CB: 70-72 mph. Tighter shape with minimal lateral movement. Spun around the zone. T2125, 1872 average rpm.
CH: 70-73 mph. Plays with late run and fade. Projects to be a true out pitch at the next level. T1896, 1460 average rpm.

Hits: LHH. Quiet in the box, balanced setup, smooth bat wrap load, subtle lead leg lift, controlled through contact. Loose easy hands, simple swing, slightly uphill to contact, favors the pull-side with feel to elevate that way. Clear rhythm and poise at the plate.
Power: 89 max exit velocity, averaged 84 MPH. 323' max distance.
Arm: LH. OF-81 mph. Short and loose arm action, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Fluid footwork, attacks the baseball with tempo, clean hand transfer and works through release.
Run: 7.44 runner in the 60.
