Neil Devlin From the Colorado Dugout: Interview with Uncommitted 2020 Catcher Jack Roode of Kent Denver
August 14, 2018
Jack Roode loves to fail. No, he doesn’t have a defeatist’s attitude.
It’s simply why he’s a baseball player. And it’s why he loves the game.
“I love the aspect of failure,” he said the past weekend while at Tom McCollum Field at Cherry Creek High School in Greenwood Village for Prep Baseball Report-Colorado’s Top Prospect Games. “If you’re (getting a hit) three times out of 10, you’re an All-Star at the Major League level.”
Plus, he added, it’s why you can’t stay down, can’t whine and can’t blame it on anyone else.
“You still get back up,” Roode said, “and go back at it. And that’s definitely why it’s my favorite sport.”
